I Finally Tried the Viral David Protein Bars

As someone who’s training for the LA Marathon and frequents the gym, I’m always trying to add more protein to my diet. After scrolling past countless promotional videos on Tik Tok, I couldn’t help but be transfixed by the David Protein Bar. This protein bar is marketed as “perfect” and “idealized.” I had to see what the hype was all about and try it out for myself, so I ordered the variety six-pack

Why are they “perfect?”

These bars have 28 grams of protein, 0 grams of sugar, 150 calories, and are gluten free, making them a more macro-friendly option compared to any other protein bar. The protein comes from a blend of Milk Protein Isolate, Collagen, Whey Protein Concentrate, and Egg White, forming a complete amino acid profile. Not only are the macros amazing, but the taste is uncompromising as well. With six different flavors, these bars could satisfy almost any sugar-y craving

Taste and My Review

The six flavors are: Blueberry Pie, Cake Batter, Salted Peanut Butter, Fudge Brownie, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. All of the flavors have a crunch to them due to little rice puff balls scattered throughout the bar, adding a more nuanced dimension to the light and slightly chewy texture. The first bar I tried was the Cake Batter, and I was very pleasantly surprised with how good it tasted. This is one of my favorite flavors due to its soft, chewy texture and sweet yet not overpowering sugary vanilla flavor. The Blueberry Pie was a great runner up, with the perfect mix of sweet and tart from the blueberry flavor. However, my favorite ended up being the Fudge Brownie. I put this bar in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds and added almond butter and sea salt on top for a delicious protein-filled dessert, but wouldn’t feel bad about doing the same for breakfast.

Price

$39 for a one-time purchase of 12 bars (same flavor)

$25 for a variety pack of 6 bars (one of every flavor)

$19 for the peanut butter 4-pack (two of each peanut butter flavor)

Plus shipping and tax, however shipping is free on all first orders

Where to find them

I bought my variety pack of David Bars on Tik Tok Shop, but you can also order them online from Amazon, Walmart, or the David Protein website. The website provides a map of In Store stocks as well, including a variety of Vitamin Shoppe locations.

For someone looking for high protein snacks which don’t sacrifice taste, I’d definitely recommend the David bar. Aside from being on the pricier side, these bars really do seem perfect!
